WORKING COCKER SPANIEL PUPPIES
Jura, our much adored working cocker spaniel had a litter of four puppies on 7th April 2026, now 5 plus weeks old. We are keeping one of the bitches; there are still three puppies available – two dogs and one bitch. Both parents are KC registered from working dog stock. We will register the puppies by collection.
Jura is derived from a long line of working stock but we have kept her as a family dog. She is bright, energetic and biddable and was very easy to train. We got her from a game-keeper / breeder in the Borders in April 2021. Both parents are working dogs. We know two of her sisters who are similarly lively, good natured and biddable dogs.
Jack the father of the puppies is a working gun dog owned by a family friend in Fife. He is also liver coloured, has a lovely nature and is beautifully trained.
The puppies are growing rapidly and becoming v active now. They can all readily escape the whelping den and are becoming little characters. Both the dogs (red and green collars) are entirely liver-coloured save a small white bib and some white on the back toes. The bitch (grey collar) is liver and tan coloured with some white on the chest and also on the back toes. All of the puppies are very ‘puppyish’ and sweet and have been handled by the family since birth. They should all make excellent family pets and given their heritage that they would be good gundogs. They are not docked.
They are booked for vaccinations and will be health checked and microchipped on 22nd May at the local vet.
We live on the Isle of Bute which is easily accessible by an hourly ferry 45 minutes from Glasgow. We welcome visits to the puppies by interested people and will happily send videos and updates. For serious interest we can arrange a mutually convenient place of viewing. They are available from 2nd June when they turn 8 weeks.
Weights today; ‘Red’ larger dog 2840g, ‘Grey’ bitch 2650g and ”Green’ smaller dog 2400g
The dogs are £1250 and the bitch is £1750
